Yes, if you have decided to make a career in data science and are ready to put in the required time and effort to complete the program, you can still apply and we will evaluate your application based on its quality. You would be able to apply to the short term or work from home internships that are published on Internshala.

Q. I have more than 3 years of work experience in a different field and now I want to switch to Data Science, can I apply?

Yes, you can. However, please note that the placement opportunities that we would be curating for the students of the Placement course would be those of internships and the same will be made available to you too. Different companies may factor in your prior work experience in their hiring decisions differently and it will be at the sole discretion of the companies.

Q. I can not pay the entire fee in one go and would like to pay it in installments. What should I do?

Depending on your payment method, you can opt for no cost EMI where a certain amount will be deducted from your account every month over a period of EMI duration that you choose. Please note that the no-cost EMI is available only select payment methods that you can see here.

Q. The payment shows failed but money got deducted? What should I do now?

The amount deducted will come back to your account within 7-10 working days. This is the normal duration your bank will take to credit the amount back into your account.

Q. How does the EMI option work? How much amount will I need to pay every month? Do I need to pay extra as interest cost?

If you choose to pay via EMI, a certain amount will be deducted from your account every month. For example, if the total program fee (including taxes) is Rs. 100 and you choose to pay via 12 months EMI then you will be charged Rs. 8.33 (100/12) every month. Since these are no cost EMIs, you don’t need to pay anything extra as interest or processing fee. The total program fee you would pay over the duration of the EMI will remain the same as it would have been if you paid all of it upfront.

Q. The payment was successful but it still shows 'Make Payment' on my dashboard? What should I do?

At times, there may be a slight delay in your payment reflecting on your Internshala Trainings dashboard. However, if your payment is not reflecting even after 30 minutes, please let us know your registered email id along with the screenshot of the payment receipt or transaction history. You can submit your request using the "Need further assistance?" section. Once verified, we will update your payment status from the backend.

Q. Can I stop or cancel the EMIs later if I decide not to continue with the Placement course?

No, you cannot cancel or stop the EMIs at a later date since your bank would have already paid the entire course fee on your behalf to Internshala. If your EMI is through one of our loan partners and you wish to make any modifications, please write to pgc.support@internshala.com. Please note that the cancellation fee for EMIs through our loan partners is Rs. 1500/-.

Q. How will the courses in the placement course be taught? What will be the timing of the online classes?

The Placement Course consists of 8 video-based courses that you would complete one after another. The videos are pre-recorded so you can watch them any time of the day as convenient to you. The courses also consist of exercises, quizzes, tests, and projects that you will undergo as you learn.

Q. What is the duration of the placement course? How many hours a day do I need to spend on the course to complete it in the given duration?

You need to complete the Data Science Placement Course within 6 months from your chosen batch start date. If you spend ~1-2 hours every day, you should be able to complete the course comfortably in 6 months including all the projects, tests, vivas etc.

Q. What if I am not able to complete the entire placement course in the given duration? Will I get an extension?

If you are not able to complete the placement course in 6 months due to any unforeseen reasons, you will be able to get an extension of 2 weeks on paying Rs. 4999 or an extension of 1 month on paying Rs. 7999.

Q. What are the eligibility criteria for the placement benefit?

For a Placement Course student to be *eligible for an Internship or stipend Guarantee, they should -

Meet the 75% aggregate marks for the Placement Course.
Participate in all placement-related activities, placement preparation sessions & drives organized by Internshala.
Make sincere and reasonable efforts to apply for various internships and jobs offered on Internshala (at least 10 relevant applications per week) and/or on other platforms and attend ALL interviews & selection processes arranged/offered by Internshala.
Not indulge in any inappropriate disciplinary behaviour or action during the course completion, recruitment process and the training/internship period (including plagiarism).

Q. What guidelines must be followed to successfully get a placement?

Graduate from the Placement Course within the originally stipulated duration without requiring any paid extension & make all the fee payments on a timely basis without any delay.
Apply and accept only those internships and job opportunities that either have a minimum of three months duration or which fulfill the stipend guarantee. Exception of duration (less than three months) can be made only in the case of opportunities fulfilling the stipend stipulation.
Be eligible and authorized to work in India and pass the background checks conducted by a company before starting the internship and ensure to meet any other condition as may be decided and communicated by Internshala from time to time.
Do not decline an internship offer, full-time employment offer, internship extension, or pre-placement offer that you get without Internshala’s approval or leave an internship mid-way nor be terminated from it due to lack of performance or misconduct.

Q. Who will be the mentor for my career planning session and how would this session help me in my career?

The Career Planning Session will take place along with the viva and your mentor for these sessions would be an expert with 5+ years of experience in the industry. This session will be an opportunity for you to discuss your career goals and get personalised feedback and guidance from the mentor.

Q. What kind of internship can I expect upon completion of the program and where?

For graduating Placement course students, we will curate Data Science internships with stipends. These internships come from the pool of recruiters who use Internshala for hiring and can be anywhere in India (including work from home) and you can apply to them as per your choice.

Q. What is the stipend I will get an offer for?

Every eligible Placement course student will be able to secure an internship (or full-time employment) within 6 months after graduating from the Placement course with a minimum stipend of ₹ 10,000/- per month with a total stipend of ₹ 40,000/- during the tenure of the internship/full-time employment (work from office PAN India); failing which Internshala will reimburse the difference between the confirmed and actual stipend/salary. E.g: If you get a total stipend of ₹ 30,000 and we confirmed a total stipend of ₹ 40,000, Internshala will reimburse ₹ 10,000 i.e difference between the confirmed and the actual stipend.

Q. What internship will be considered towards this placement?

Any internship or full-time employment that a student gets, in a profile directly related to the Placement course program or otherwise, through their own efforts, via Internshala, or any other medium, will be considered.

Q. What is the placement benefit?

Every eligible Placement course student will be able to secure a placement ( internship with a pre-placement or offer full-time employment) within 6 months after graduating from the Placement course program, failing which Internshala will refund the Placement course fee paid by the student. Please note that the refund will be exclusive of GST, Payment gateway charges & interest charges of the bank in case of EMI payments.

Q. What is the process for a student to claim a refund?

If you satisfy the eligibility criteria and still fail to get any full-time employment or internship with a pre-placement offer within 6 months of completing the course, please write to pgc.support@internshala.com upon completion of the 6 months after graduating from the course. We will let you know of the documents required to process your claim. Please ensure that you make the claim within thirty days from the date of completion of the 6 months or it will not be considered for further process and Internshala will not be liable to reimburse any refund.

Q. How would the internship placement process work?

Internshala will support you throughout the Placement Course and beyond, providing continuous placement guidance even after course completion. You will have access to relevant data science opportunities (internships with pre-placement offers) on the Internshala portal, where you are required to apply as part of the placement process.
As a Placement Course graduate, your application will be highlighted to recruiters, improving your chances of getting shortlisted. Companies will assess and select candidates based on their respective hiring processes & preferences.

Q. What are placement preparation sessions?

Placement preparation sessions are 1:1 sessions for Placement course students so as to prepare them for interviews. These include sessions on cover letter writing, resume writing, LinkedIn profile building, and mock interviews.
These are mandatory sessions and in case the user isn't attending any session, they will be debarred from the internship placement program. The user will still be able to access the learning content.

Q. What certificate will I receive from Internshala upon completing the Placement course?

Upon successful completion of the Placement course, you will receive a Data Science Placement course certificate from Internshala Trainings and Analytics Vidhya.

Q. What is the criteria for one to receive the Placement course certificate upon completion?

The necessary requirements to be eligible for the Placement course certificate are as follows -
1. Min. 75% aggregate marks
2. Submission of the mandatory projects
3. Attending the viva and career planning session

Q. What is the eligibility criteria to get the government approved certificate from NSDC & Skill India?

To be eligible for NSDC & Skill India certificate, you need to fill in the required additional information including your salutation, date of birth and father's name within 3 days of enrollment. This form will open when you log in to your account. You will also need to complete your final test by the original course end date and score greater than 50% marks in the final test of each course, submit all mandatory milestones (projects, certificates), and complete viva and overall final test before the end date. Please also note that the partnership came to effect on 8th May so only trainings purchased on or after 8th May '23 are eligible for the certificate.

You will have 24*7 access to a doubt clearing forum where you can post your doubts and the course instructors would answer them with-in 24 hours. There will also be a live doubt clearing session with the instructor once a week where you can ask your doubts in real-time through chat or audio/video call.

Q. How many tests will be there in the Placement course? How will these be administered and do I need to pass all of them to complete the Placement course?

The Placement course consists of 8 courses and each course will have several quizzes, module tests and capstone projects that are meant for your practice. Each course will also have a final test which will be online. You need to score a min. 50% marks in the final test of each course to proceed to the next course and hence, passing all the final tests is necessary for you to complete the Placement Course. To graduate from the Placement course, you need to score an aggregate of 75% marks, i.e.2138 marks out of the total 2850.

Q. What happens if I am not able to clear the final test or want to improve the scores of a final test of a particular course?

You will get one more attempt to take the test on payment of Rs. 1000. There will not be any further attempts available to you.

Q. How will I get to practice what I learn? How many projects would be there? Do I need to submit all of them?

All 7 projects are mandatory. These projects carry 100 marks each and it would add to your overall Placement Course score. You are required to submit all 7 mandatory projects to graduate from the Placement course.

Q. Will the projects I submit be evaluated and given feedback on?

Yes, every project you submit will be scored and given feedback on.

Q. What is the online viva? When and how would they be conducted?

During the Placement course, there will be 2 online viva (video call) that you are required to attend. The two viva are the mid-term viva and the final viva. The mid-term viva will be held after completing Course 4, which is the middle point of your 6-month course, and the final viva will be taken once all the courses and modules are completed, including the submission of all the mandatory assignments and projects. In the viva, you will be asked questions based on concepts taught in the Placement Course and the projects and assignments you will work on.

Q. How does this viva work?

There are two vivas: the Mid-Term Viva and the Final Viva. For the Mid-Term Viva, you'll need to schedule a one-on-one session with the instructor. The Final Viva has two components: first, you'll take a proctored test on the DoSelect platform, and then you'll book a slot for a one-on-one viva session with the instructor.

Q. What is proctoring?

Proctoring uses your computer’s camera and microphone to monitor you during the test, ensuring that you follow the rules and don't use any unauthorized assistance.

Q. What questions to expect in the DoSelect Test?

The DoSelect test will include practice questions and coding challenges that must be completed in a proctored environment.

Q. How many marks do the tests, projects, and vivas carry?

Final tests and projects carry 100 marks each. There will be two vivas, mid term viva and final viva. Final viva will be of 500 marks. Hence, the total marks in the Placement Course will be 2850 as per table below. You need to score a min. 75% marks (2138) to graduate from the Placement course and get your certificate.

Q. Can I change my course if I find the concepts of my current placement course challenging to understand?

Yes, you may request a course change to another program within the first 15 days of your batch start date if you find the concepts challenging to understand. This option is available only once per student under our Course Change Policy.

Q. How can I request a batch change if I face issues such as missed classes, unavailability, or professional commitments?

You can request a batch change at any time under our Batch Changing Policy. If you request a batch change within seven days of the original batch start date, no fee will be charged. If the request is made between 7 and 30 days after the start date, a fee of Rs. 999 will apply. For batch change requests made after 30 days, the fee will be calculated based on the additional months provided, multiplied by the monthly cost indicated.
