Technically, ethical hacking is an authorized attempt to gain access to a system in an unauthorized manner. These 3 fall into different categories.
  • White Hat Hacker is the one who hacks ethnically. They fetch vulnerabilities in the security of the system and get accessed only if permission is granted. For example - They work for cybersecurity or in a crime branch.
  • Black Hat Hackers are the ones who get themselves engaged in cybercrime. They are also called crackers because they escape through the cracks in the computing system to violate rules. Examples of Black Hat hackers are online fraudsters, drug traders, etc.
  • Grey hat hackers are the ones who do the correct thing using an unethical way. They may sometimes violate the norms of ethical hacking but they do not have any wrong intentions. For example - The hackers in the police team. They hack into locations without permission.
According to Section 84 that is, the Information Technology Act (2000) claims that it is legal to be a hacker only if he or she is appointed by the government in order to safeguard the public's interests. It also comes with a set of rules for the hacker to follow and abide by. So you can legally learn hacking by any online course.

To be eligible for NSDC & Skill India certificate, you need to fill in the required additional information including your salutation, date of birth and father's name within 3 days of enrollment.
